Dan Croll’s Sweet Disarray has been one of our favourite albums of this summer, so it feels like perfect timing for him to release the deluxe edition. His upbeat style and catchy riffs drew us in, and we were so excited to hear more. Despite this, we couldn’t help but be slightly hesitant, as many ‘deluxe’ albums are simply repackaged originals with only a couple of new songs. However, we needn’t have worried.
As well as the whole of the original Sweet Disarray, the deluxe edition features Dan’s new single featuring The Very Best, Nobody Knows. At first we were surprised by this new song, as it seems to be a very different style from Dan’s usual material. Nevertheless, it very quickly grew on us, and is now a favourite. The video is adorable too – check it out below! Alongside this are several other new songs, remixes and videos. However, some definite high points of the album have to be the collaborations with Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Their vocals add a bold quality to the tracks, and seem to blend well with Dan’s earlier material. We think that fans will love the new songs on the album, and we believe that these add on to what made the original so great.
