RELEASES: Budapest – George Ezra

George Ezra has been hanging on the edge of mainstream music for a while now. He first came into the public eye after coming fifth in the BBC’s Sound of 2014 list, and from there he has just gone up and up. After the release of his first two EPs, Did You Hear The Rain? and Cassy O’, his growing fan base became desperate for more. Last month marked the release of his debut album, Wanted On Voyage, and single Budapest.

The most remarkable thing about George Ezra simply has to be his voice. Deep and bluesy, it seems surprising that such a sound can come from so young a man. However, it is all part of his appeal, as it is his voice that makes his latest single. Budapest is a catchy love song, with bouncy guitar rythms and an upbeat feel. The lyrics are sweet and heartfelt, and the whole song has a soulful edge. We’re sure that this summery track will be going around our heads for a long time to come.

With Budapest reaching No. 3 in the UK Singles Chart, it looks like George Ezra’s popularity can only grow. He has recently played Glastonbury, and he is also appearing at a number of other big UK festivals throughout the rest of the summer. George Ezra comes as a welcome relief from the club anthems in today’s charts, and we think that the rest of the year can only bring more success for him.Tickets are now on sale for his UK tour in October.

These are usually shot close to the artist, giving the listener a unique, intimate experience. This is also a great way to discover new music as it showcases the songs in their most original form, and their frequent uploads ensure that there is always something new to hear.
