He is the King of awkward-cool. He is a master multi-instrumentalist. He is Brett Domino. If you haven’t already seen his ‘How To Make A Hit Pop Song, Pt. 1’ video, then you’ve missed a bit of comedy gold. The alter-ego of comedian Rob J. Madin, Brett Domino creates videos of covers or humorous original songs using instruments such as keytars and stylophones. If he looks a little familiar, that is because you may have seen him on Britain’s Got More Talent way back in 2009. Unsurprisingly, Simon Cowell didn’t quite understand the cringey hilarity, but that hasn’t stopped Brett Domino gaining more and more fans. His channel also features the other member of the ‘Brett Domino Trio’, Steven Peavis (there used to be three members, though despite the absence, the name remained). In the last month, his highly amusing video ‘How To Make A Hit Pop Song, Pt. 1’ went viral, sparking a sequel and generating hordes of new fans. The video pokes fun at the blandness of chart-topping hits, with some worryingly catchy results. Be aware that this is a comedy channel, and all videos are produced with tongue firmly in cheek. We just love his unique style of humour, and this paired with catchy songs make Brett Domino’s channel a must-watch.
