We’ve been waiting for Don’t Wait For Me, the third EP from Racing Glaciers, for quite a while now. Having simply loved their previous releases, we had high hopes for this one. Their self-titled first EP, released in 2012, was supposed to be a one-off, but thankfully the group reunited to create Ahead Of You Forever earlier this year. After the release of free single VHS, we were excited to hear how Racing Glaciers had developed their sound.
So did Don’t Wait For Me live up to expectations? Definitely. We reckon that this is their strongest collection of songs to date. The EP begins with new single Animal, and the song begins softly and builds in intensity, with the lyrics really showing off the gorgeous vocals of lead singer Tim Monaghan. Don’t Wait For Me is slightly more slowly paced, with a melodic chorus and screeching electric guitar solo. We had heard First Light already, as it was released a few months ago. However, it fits right in to this EP, with its bold horn and catchy hooks. Finally, though Carry It On has a more laid-back sound than the other songs, it still brings the EP to a resounding end.
So the next question on our lips is; when is the album coming out? Racing Glaciers have been going from strength to strength recently, with many festival performances and a growing fanbase. We believe that their signature sound is strong enough to make an impact in the charts, and we can’t wait to see what they can achieve.
